Tips for Holiday Pic-nics!!

Here's a tip from Piggy Tales, featuring "The Ants Go Marching" collection, just in time for your holiday pic-nics!

" Kid Interview" Layout by Paula Gilarde:  Create accents on a page with our Shape Rub-ons (Id: 328).   Instead of just a dot for an “i” in the word kid, Paula layered (2) flower rub-ons.   She then made the butterfly rub-on look like it’s flying off the page by using the border rub-on.  Rub-ons are a great way to add something special to any layout or card.  They are so easy to use, but another little tip is to first cut the rub-on out before applying it to your project.

A Little Weekend Tip

Get Ready for the 4th of July with the Yankee Doodle Dandy Collection and this crafty tip from Piggy Tales

Tip:Embellishments made from Cardstock.
In the above layout we used pattern paper from the Yankee Doodle Dandy Collection #397 Pony.  First, cut a 4 inch strip of the smaller pattern for the left side of layout.  Then use leftover paper on the opposite side (bigger pattern) to provided 1 blue and 2 white flowers. To give the paper the epoxy feel, we used Paper Glaze.  This hardens the paper and also gives it a shine.  We added extra depth by cutting out another blue flower, gluing it flat to the layout and then using a pigtail (#217) added another blue flower directly on top. Add Photos and Enjoy!

The New Yankee Doodle Dandy collection is the perfect backdrop for your summer events. It is also featured as our Piggy Tales Academy club kit for July.

The collection includes:
6 Double-sided Cardstock Papers,
3 Double-sided Foil Cardstock Papers,
Build-a Rub-ons, Rub-on shapes, self adhesive chipboard shapes, self adhesive chipboard letters, cardstock letter stickers, epoxy letters, epoxy shapes and of course, our very own award winning barndoors. There is something here for everyone! Make this summer a dandy with Piggy Tales!

DT Showcase- Paula Gilarde

NOW Presenting.....drum roll..... PAULA GILARDE!  We're so EXCITED to have Paula on our team! Here's a little bit about her.

My name is Paula Gilarde, and I have been scrapbooking for over 6 years - what started as a simple wedding album has turned into a full-blown obsession. I started with paper and discovered digital scrapbooking about three years ago. I still switch back and forth between the two depending on my mood! I usually scrap 12x12 and my style tends towards clean and simple. I'm happily married and have two children Molly, 6 and Tommy 4 who provide me with endless inspiration for my pages. I've been published in Simple Scrapbooks, Creating Keepsakes, BHG Scrapbooks Etc, Memory Makers, Scrapbook Trends and various other scrapbooking idea books. I'm thrilled to have been named a winner of the 2007 Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame.

Thanks PAULA for all of your hard work!  We look forward to more of your work!  I've posted for you Paula's newest projects along with a product list and instructions.  Scotch 3M is also listed as the products used, so visit their website to view more project ideas.  Here's their link:

DT- Showcase: Jennifer Armentrout

I'd like to introduce to you Jennifer Armentrout a new member of our Design Team!  Here's a little bit about her.

Hello! My name is Jennifer Armentrout and I have been scrapbooking virtually since birth (my Mom has the albums with picture collages of Kirk Cameron to prove it!), but I started "modern" scrapbooking after the birth of my first son, Eric, in 2003. I have roughly 945,897 photos of Eric and his siblings, Benjamin and Allison, so there is always plenty to scrap. I am fortunate to have been published in several scrapbook magazines and books, and I am a co-founder of a scrap challenge blog called Method Playground. I am thrilled to be designing for Piggy Tales and 3M.

Jennifer is also a Creating Keepsakes Magazine 2007 Hall of Fame Honorable Mention winner and has been published in Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers and Scrapbook Trends Magazines.

We are so lucky to have her on our team and can't wait to see more of her creations using our products!

Here are a few of her projects that would be great to use for Father's Day! ENJOY!!

Back from Nashville!

Hello everyone!

This past weekend I attended Nasvhille to instruct for Piggy Tales at CKU.  I stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel..OH MY!  I was there for 4 days and by the time the last day came I was finally able to find my room.  It was so beautiful!   I had such an amazing time and made wonderful friends!  All of the attending students, instructors and CKU staff became my friends!  Teresa Collins and her assistant, Jamie Harper and I totally hit it off and we had a great time!  The first night at the crop they both came and kidnapped me.  Then we walked over to the Sports Grill and Teresa treated me to dinner. (Thanks again Teresa)!  Then we went back to her hotel room and put together gem kits for her students.  I'm looking forward to spending more time with them at CKU Provo!   They are both sooooo SWEET!

THANK YOU to the attending students for their sweet southern hospitality and kindness.  Thanks to Melanie and Denise for the "The Original Mini Cow Pie" from Wisconsin and the GOO GOO Cluster from Tennessee (and all the other treats) from more of my students.  I wish I could say I am a southern girl. You all were amazing and I look forward to my return for the CKC Nashville!  I'll be instructing 5 different classes, so for my Nasvhille friends please come back to see me!

THANK You to the CKU Staff for putting on such a wonderful event!  They were so friendly and I enjoyed getting to know them.

At the crop nights I went around and visited with the attending students (my friends).  Here's a top 10 list of what they taught me.

1.  What's importants if the FUN and BFF's you make in life.
2.  How to make a ROCKET bomb out of a 2 liter of soda and a package of Mentos.
3.  How to make poverty potatoes.
4.  How to tie dye t shirts.  "Thanks..crazy Katy."
5.  There is no age limit to scrapbooking.
6.  You'll never leave CKU without a making a new friend.
7.  You'll leave CKU with a wealth of new techniques from the instructors!
8.  You'll never leave CKU with less scrapbook supplies than when you arrived!
9.  It's OK to get up and sing and dance in front of 300 people that don't know you (better they don't know you than do know you right)?
10.  Southern women are the kindest and sweetest women I know!

Here are few photos of my trip!  Hope you enjoy!
